R. N. Podar School has been selected as one of the first Ashoka ‘Changemaker Schools’ in India. A global initiative, the Changemaker Schools program has been launched by Ashoka Innovators for the Public to identify, connect and support innovative schools around the world that recognize the need for a new way of learning. These schools are empowering young people by equipping them with changemaker skills such as empathy, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking and creative agency; all of which are essential to thrive in a world that is moving at an unprecedented rate.

The network will enable sharing of insights, learnings, and initiatives happening across the schools as well as link these schools to educators, social entrepreneurs, and other leaders who will inspire new ways of thinking and work with the schools to magnify their impact.

Sanjana Janardhanan, Programme Manager, Ashoka Changemaker Schools says, “R. N. Podar CBSE has been selected because of their constantly evolving culture, which allows the school to not just stay with the times, but actively cultivate changemakers to shape and build the future. Their work in flipping learning, places ownership over learning in the hands of their students. Students are further constantly allowed to explore actions, and the school has created platforms like Drishtikon and Learnshift India, to allow them to express and consequently, shift, how learning is perceived by society at large.”
