Social Awareness

Social Empowerment through Work & Action

CBSE curriculum provides the space for several activities through the year that build sensitivity and leadership among students while giving them opportunities to act upon their social conscience to make a difference to other lives. We organize these activities in partnership with external organizations.

Skipa

Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA’s) Skip-a-thon

In the academic year 2013-14 students from grades 4-8 participated in a city-wide initiative by CPAA to raise funds for cancer patients while promoting physical fitness. Students were provided with a Skipper Kit. They had to skip to earn money for charity. In all, the school raised over Rs. 4 lacs through the students’ participation, awarded for being the highest among schools across the city.

Avanti Young Women Leadership Program

Every year, Grade 9 girls undergo an action-based social leadership training program conducted by Avanti Foundation and Blue Ribbon Movement. This experiential, hands-on training enables them to identify a social cause and work towards bringing about a positive change. The closing workshops bring an inspiring woman leader to the school to interact with the students. Some of the topics taken up in 2013-14 include garbage management and segregation, finding a suitable alternative to junk food, creating awareness about carbon footprint, and empowering differently abled people.
